Recent changes in travel restrictions still allow US Travelers to visit Cuba independently or as a group on flights from the US.

You can visit Cuba under one of these ways

By selecting one of the categories as listed here: family visits; support for the Cuban people; educational, religious or journalistic activities; humanitarian projects; professional research and professional meetings; activities of private foundations, research or educational institutes; public performances, clinics, workshops, athletic and other competitions, and exhibitions; official business of the United States government, foreign governments and certain intergovernmental organizations; exportation, importation or transmission of information or informational materials; and certain authorized export transactions.

How easy is it to go?

The process for traveling to Cuba is fairly simple, much like going on any other vacation. You can book direct flights from various cities on airlines, including JetBlue, American, Southwest and United, obtain a tourist card, commonly called a visa from the Cuban Consulate, their travel provider or airline. The visa does not appear in your passport as it is a separate card. If you do not want a Cuba entry or departure stamp in your passport you can tell the Cuban Immigration official. Some airlines sell the card online, but many travelers buy the card at the airport before leaving the United States. The card is valid for 30 days and can be renewed in Cuba for another 30 days. The only other thing to do is to complete and sign a special document that allows travelers to visit Cuba. It is necessary to have medical travel insurance to enter Cuba, some airlines include this insurance in your ticket.

What category is best?

We mention this category as it serves to both support Cuban people and gets you closer to the lifestyle and culture of the country. Under “support for the Cuban people” category, you can travel to Cuba, but you must have an itinerary with plan to participate in local activities such as a visit to a local community project, meet local business owners, artists or others, staying in a private home (B&B), instead of a hotel, and dine at family restaurants. Your travel provider will customize an itinerary to include some of these activities and accommodation according to your length of stay and budget.

To have an idea of a possible itinerary look at one of our example tours below which we can adjust accordingly and custom-make the tour according to your requirements, budget and official regulations. Your designated Cuba specialist will work with you throughout the booking process.
